This article is to evaluate the concept of Anthropocene from an archaeological perspective, placing special emphasis on the contributions that this discipline can provide to the study of the issue. When archaeological approaches to study the Anthropocene, archaeology itself often emphasized as a science of the past. What would happen if we broadened this idea? Based on contemporary archeological ideas, various ways in which the discipline can contribute to the study of the Anthropocene will be proposed. This article initially evaluates the meanings of Anthropocene as a concept and deepens then into the specific contributions that archeology can propose, from its objectual diversity.
